Star Wars: The Force Awakens got an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects, and it's easy to see why: the VFX team did a brilliant job in bringing the Galaxy far, far away to life. A few days ago, we saw a fascinating VFX video that shows how Maz Kanata and other characters were made.
Now, we got a couple more videos from Industrial Lights & Magic, and they break down the visual effects work for the film. It shows off the cool layering and texturing used to create the environments of the film. The second video shows a split-screen version of the shots as they were filmed on set alongside shots we saw in the final version of the film. Check out the videos below:
