Magic: The Gathering players love the new cycle of Nyx basic land cards from the latest set Theros Beyond Death. The constellation-themed art featuring mana symbols illustrated by Sam Burley look fantastic, and now Wizards of the Coast has announced that they're coming to Magic: The Gathering Arena as part of the February game update.
The February 2020 State of the Game announcement revealed that MTG Arena players will be able to purchase each Nyx basic land and card style bundled together from the game's store for 3,000 gold each.You'll only have to purchase each Nyx land once, as once unlocked, you'll be able to as many copies to any number of decks you want.
In addition to the Nyx basic lands, players can get showcase card styles in the upcoming Festival of the Gods events centered around each of the monocolored Gods from Theros. The first event will be called Fires of Purphoros, which players can join to earn the constellation showcase card styles for Klothys, Anax, and Purphoros himself.
A new event will begin each week starting on Feb. 22, each available in game for three days:
Fires of Purphoros: Standard Artisan
Nylea's Call of the Wild: Giant Monsters Emblem
Heliod's Glory: Immortal Sun Emblem
Erebos's Memoir of Death: Historic Brawl
Thassa's Briny Bounty: 150-card Preconstructed Singleton
Each event will cost 500 gems or 2,500 gold to enter.
The announcement also confirmed that 8-person draft is coming to Arena.
The February game update will be arriving on Tuesday, February 11.
