Disney has released the latest TV trailer for the big screen remake of Lewis Carroll’s classic novel, Alice Through the Looking Glass.
The sequel to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland in 2010, Alice Through the Looking Glass has already received several TV spots and trailers. The latest from the entertainment giant sees the first reappearance of Alan Rickman’s character, Absolem, the Blue Caterpillar.
The characters, most especially Alice, are running out of time in the new movie, which will offer, well, no chance for having tea. The movie sees Time himself, played by newcomer Sacha Baron Cohen and returning cast Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen.
Take a look at the dark side of Wonderland in the new Alice Through the Looking Glass TV trailer:
Alice in Wonderland, directed by Burton, has received mixed reviews during its run, which could explain why he has stepped down as director and decided to produce the sequel instead.
James Bobin is the new man to helm the sequel using the screenplay of returning writer Linda Woolverton.
Generally, Alice Through the Looking Glass appears to be a large-scale version of the first film, which is well and good since the film has a lot of contenders in the fantasy department this year. It remains to be seen whether fans will offer the sequel a warm welcome considering the new movie’s time gap from the first film, which is six years.
Hopefully, fans will be pleased with the film, especially with it being the last we’ll ever hear the voice of the late Alan Rickman.
Alice Through the Looking Glass is slated for release on May 27.
