The Women of Game of Thrones Are Owning It in Stunning New Photos

A bunch of new photos featuring the stunning profiles of the ladies of Game of Thrones were released today.

Entertainment Weekly unveiled the striking new images following the release of equally arresting portraits for the magazine's cover.

Ladies who got their photos taken include Stark sisters Arya and Sansa, Margaery Tyrell, Brienne of Tarth, Cersei Lannister, and of course Daenerys Targaryen. Individual character shots were accompanied by quotes from their respective actresses, which lines in between you can delve deep into if you want.

Take a look:

Here's the clever Margaery, who in the last season, still hadn't found a way out of the Sparrows' hands for the crimes she's done. Of her character, Natalie Dormer said: "We've seen Margaery in a lot of sticky situations, but she's never been out of her depth before."

Here's Brienne, who never wavered at being the tough woman that she is. Gwendoline Christie hints at the same strong personality in season 6 saying, "Brienne is so unique and unconventional and so strong, and I love the writing hasn't allowed her to just rest there."

Here's Sansa, who looks more in control than her younger self. Of her character, Sophie Turner says: "This is the season I'm most excited for. Sansa's coming into her own and standing up for herself."

Here's Cersei, looking like she's plotting a backup plan as she looks fiercely into the sky. Lena Headey said of Cersei: "She really has nothing to lose and she has everything to gain from the horrible position she finds herself in."

Here's Arya appearing calm and composed, and who's apparently healed from her blindness already. Maisie Williams said of Arya: "Last season people asked: 'Is she dead?' I'm all, 'No, she's blind.' It's too easy to kill her. If there's one thing we've learned from Game of Thrones it's that death is the easy way out."

And finally, we have the Mother of Dragons, looking as Queen-like and regal as ever. Emilia Clarkes said of Dany: "She's learning the last lesson she needs to learn. There's just few remnants of being a human being she's shaking off."

Here are a few more photos of the ladies:

I wonder why the Red Queen isn't here. Maybe her role in season 6 isn't as big as most rumors thought it would be. If Jon Snow will be resurrected, the Red Priestess may not have anything to do about it.

Game of Thrones season 6 airs on April 24 on HBO.
