Geralt and Jaskier built an unexpected friendship in the first season of Netflix's The Witcher. The bard has been one of the fan-favorite characters in the show and his catchy song about the titular character's adventures was loved by the viewers. That being said, what's next for Jaskier? Would he still follow around the Witcher or is he going to focus more on himself?

In a recent interview with Redanian Intelligence, The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich was asked if they were to explore more of Jaskier's serious side, given that the first season showed more of the character's comedic aspects. "Yes! One of my favorite moments with Jaskier is from Episode 106, when he and Geralt are sitting on the cliff's edge, and says, ‘I'm just thinking about what pleases me,'" Hissrich said. "You have this character who has quite literally attached himself to the coattails of our Witcher, in order to rustle up material for songs."

However, as seen in the show, in the process of following him around, Jaskier actually found a friend in Geralt. Hissrich says the bard starts to think about "what he needs and wants in the world." And in the second season, the viewers are going to see the character discover some answers.

Based on Hissrich's comments, it looks like we'd get to see more of Jaskier in the upcoming second season and fans can't wait to learn more about the character. From latching on to make some songs and his desire for women, viewers would now get to see the character get a little more serious about his life.
