It's been a month since The Witcher made its debut on Netflix. On track be the streaming service's biggest first season ever, it's no question that fans and subscribers are loving the show so far. The first season of the series only had eight episodes, and while it is inevitable to cut some parts from what was initially planned, The Witcher showrunner reveals some deleted parts she regrets cutting.
"We had a lovely scene in Episode 103 where Yennefer, Fringilla, and Sabrina all discussed how they felt about their transformations," Lauren Hissrich told Pure Fandom. "I wish we could have kept it." She says that scene was a "gorgeous example of female friendship" and it could have also been used to "ground Fringilla a bit" before viewers got to see her join Nilfgaard.
"We also filmed a scene of Yen meeting a very young Triss, who'd just arrived at Aretuza," Hissrich added. She says this scene could have shown "how far Yennefer had come in her years at Aretuza" as well as create a "sense of mentorship between these two sorceresses."
Hissrich wished that they still had those scenes, especially while looking ahead at the stories to be told in season two. That being said, she is proud of what they have accomplished in the time that they had in making the first season.
While the scenes could have added a nice touch to some of the sorceresses, Season 2 of The Witcher will introduce a "whole new set of fun characters." In addition, viewers will get to know more of Vilgefortz too and it looks like he has something shocking planned out.
