The second season of Netflix's The Witcher is already in production in the United Kingdom. There have been some casting rumors about the show these past few days including a Game of Thrones alum. Now, the streaming service has officially confirmed some new members of the cast, including the directors attached to the project.

Amongst the newcomers to the franchise is Game of Thrones' Kristofer Hivju. Same as what the rumor suggests, he will be playing the fan-favorite character named Nivellen. He is also joined by six other members including, Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereen, Paul Billion as Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, and Mecia Simon as Francesca.

Most of the major stars from the first season will be returning for the second season. Aside from the lead, Henry Cavill, the story will also follow the journey of Anya Chalotra's Yennefer, Freya Allan's Ciri, and Joey Batey's Jaskier. Of course, their return doesn't come as a surprise especially since the last episode left a cliff hanger that teases the start of Geralt and Ciri's relationship.

Four directors will also be helming the project. Umbrella Academy's Stephen Surjik will direct episodes 201 and 202, while Cursed's Sarah O'Gorman will be in charge of 203 and 204. The Last Kingdom's Ed Bazalgette will be directing 205 and 208, and Geeta Patel of Meet the Patels will be directing 206 and 207.

There's no doubt that the second season will be as epic as the first one and fans can't wait to see what's to come in the show.

The Witcher Season 2 is expected to air sometime in 2021.
