Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri's stories have already been established in the first season of Netflix's The Witcher, with the group likely to encounter new characters along their journey going into Season 2. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich has already teased a new set of characters to be introduced in the upcoming season, and it seems like a mysterious killer could be one of them.

Redanian Intelligence shared an audition tape for the show where a character named D scolds a soldier for falling asleep on the job. The outlet points out that D is a "hardened and experienced man," who is obviously "no stranger to killing." While he criticizes the soldier, D is quick to soften up and give some "advice" on killing. You can check out the transcription below:

Man: "I'm sorry, D. I don't know what happened."
D: You fell asleep on your watch, that's what happened. You made it through your first battle without shitting your kacks, you've earned a night's rest.
Man: Does it ever get easier?
D: Staying awake?
Man: Killing.
D: When you were a boy and your father sent you to plow the field, your hands hurt first, didn't they? Then the blisters, callus, and the ache moved to your back, then you got strong and the ache moved to your head to the everyday monotony of putting your blade to the ground and tilling the never-ending roads of dirt. Killing is no different than any other job. The trick is to know that the difficulty never goes away. It just migrates, becomes a duller kind of hurt. One you can learn to ignore.

For now, it's still unclear who D is. The outlet guesses that it could be Rience because he seems to fit the age and the vibe. However, there is a possibility that this could be an entirely new character introduced in the show. Codenames are used for casting purposes and these mostly giveaway the first letter of the character's real name, so that could be a huge clue.

One thing's for sure though, this is someone who you do not want to mess with. This audition tape provides questions more than answers, perhaps, fans will find out which character it'll be soon enough with The Witcher set to resume filming very soon.
