The first season of Netflix's The Witcher has already established the stories of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri. As the story further follows the adventures of these three, it is very likely that they'll meet some new and interesting characters along the way. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich has previously teased a set of characters to be introduced in Season 2 and it looks like Sigismund Dijkstra will be one of them.

In a recent report from Redanian Intelligence, a fansite dedicated to The Witcher, an audition clip of The Hobbit actor Graham McTavish has surfaced online. McTavish read for a character named David, which is a codename used for casting purposes.

Aside from the code name and the actual character name having the same first letters, the nature of the audition script hints that McTavish is reading for the role of the Redanian Spymaster. The outlet claims a codename was also used for other audition scripts, providing the example of Isaac which is for Istredd and Riley for Renfri.

It is important to note that the scripts used in auditions aren't actually the same scenes to be featured in the show; this is done to avoid revealing any spoilers if the audition clip gets around. That being said, the outlet also shared the script for the fans to enjoy.

The site also pointed out that once an audition tape makes its way online, it is usually a "sign" that the actor reading the part didn't get the role. However, this is not always the case, which doesn't immediately suggest that McTavish won't be in the show.
