The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch Will Fit in One 32GB Cartridge, No Additional Download Needed

Nintendo handily won E3 this year, thanks to a number of great exclusive games, along with some fairly surprising ports the biggest of which was The Witcher 3: Complete Edition. Fans didn't think this would ever happen since the game happens to be one of the biggest RPGs of recent memory. What's really surprising is the fact that CD Projekt Red has managed to fit the whole game in one 32BG cartridge, including all of the DLC and updates.

Damn son.

CD Projekt Red confirmed the news themselves on Twitter, whilst also touting some of the other goodies that come with the physical copy of the popular game. While the game has taken a big hit in graphical quality, running at 540p in handheld and 720p in docked mode, the fact that fans can play this enormous RPG whenever they want is a huge plus.

What makes this even more impressive is that other companies tend to not use the cartridge's full space. Re-releases like the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Collection and the Resident Evil Origins Collection forced players to download the second game via a code, which was just lazy on the part of these developers. Now that The Witcher 3 can be fit in one cartridge, future developers no longer have an excuse to use when porting older games to the system.

The Witcher 3: Complete Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year.
