The Walking Dead’s Daryl Will Be Ridden With Guilt

Even with the deadly game of eeny, meeny, miny, moe now over, its effects are certainly lingering in everyone's minds.

And perhaps the one with the biggest and weighty conscience would have to be The Walking Dead's resident bad boy Daryl—whose badassery may have just backfired and bashed in our beloved bias's head.

As we go deeper into the newest episode of The Walking Dead, audiences might just feel the weight of what's happening to Daryl. Speaking to Comicbook.com, actor Norman Reedus revealed his thoughts on how Daryl may be taking that extra death on his hands.

"I think it weighs heavily on him. I don't know that anybody in that group blames him for anything, but he blames himself more than anything. It really brings him down to a certain level where whatever shitty thing is thrown at him, he is just going to take it."

He does have some good reason to be a little uneasy and guilty. Some might say that his little outburst added another body count to an already terrible situation. From the looks of it, even though he's basically a hostage of The Saviors now, that doesn't mean that we'll see Daryl lose the fight in him.

If anything, it might just mean that he'll be even more rabid than ever, as a possible attempt at retribution for what happened to Glenn. But it does make us wonder how Daryl actually feels the next time he faces the group, especially Maggie and Rick.

"He goes very, very dark. He does certain things that he can't go back from. He goes to a very, very dark, dark place. It's a combination of hatred. It's a combination of self-loathing. He hates the world that we're in, and he doesn't lose the fight in him, but he definitely no longer sees anything good in the world, that's for sure."

This almost feels like the same struggle that Carol is going through, especially once he's gone past the point of no return.

The Walking Dead's next episode will be back in Oct. 30 on AMC.
