The end for the divisive season of The Walking Dead is almost here. And while the reception for the second half of the season is still divisive despite the new elements introduced, at least the showrunners will be making good with their promise.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, The Walking Dead darling Daryl Dixon, portrayed by Norman Reedus, teased that the finale is something worth dancing a jig about. And that's because it's exactly what he did, following suit what Andrew Lincoln had said before.
"I think he likes to do little jigs here and there. But I get it. I did the same thing when I read that one."
And the reason for this? He cited that this was due to the communities finally growing a backbone to stand up to Negan. For those who followed Daryl's journey within the Saviors' compound, he was the only one who didn't succumb to their strong-arming.
"I was like, yes, let's get back to it! It's nice to finally let a window open up in this room and let some of this air out of here, and it's nice to get some freedom and some dirt underneath your feet and start running toward killing this guy."
Amidst all this, the finale seems to be shaping up to be a different one this time as well. And for comparison's sake, Reedus teases that there will be an element of "William Wallace" in it. Yes, as in Mel Gibson's Braveheart character in it.
Our fingers are crossed that this wouldn't be the same cheap shot cliffhanger that we experienced before coming into this season. The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC.
