The Walking Dead Sneak Peek Shows Scavenging & Daryl's Will

Every Daryl fan may have breathed a collective sigh of relief for the latest episode of The Walking Dead. Because even with the prisoner of war torture that our resident badass received, it was clear that his spirit was going to be broken by our bat-swinging antagonistic villain.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Daryl Dixon actor Norman Reedus shared his thoughts on what went down between Negan and Daryl in the latest episode.

"Daryl's a fighter. He fights to the end, but in saying out loud his name instead of Negan's name--it's the last shred of himself that he has and for his friends. I assume he thinks he's going to get killed right there when he says he's not Negan. He's signing up for more torture, but he's doing it for the love of his friend."

This may be what Daryl has going for him. Let's face it, what he had to endure in that episode--the song!--was enough to make someone break.

"He'll fight, but matters of the heart to Daryl are hard. They mean more. Hit him more in the face with the bat. He's learning, and those are the things that give him faith and hope, and he can't let go of that."

Another thing that Daryl may have going for him are the survivors back in the camp. But even they may not be facing better waters now, not when Negan is coming back to get his piece of the pie.

AMC has released a new sneak peek of the next episode. While we already know that The Walking Dead showrunners are preparing a longer run to commemorate Negan's visit to Alexandria, we now also know that during the time Daryl was taken captive, the survivors and the Alexandrians have been busy.

In the scene, Eugene seems to be trying his best to bring his expertise to some use. The others aren't doing any better, as they continue to scavenge, which might be a hint of where we'll be seeing our heroes next.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC.
