The seventh season of The Walking Dead is finally over, with a lot of people mulling about how the show will go on from here. Just as wars have casualties, the war that Rick began with the other communities waged against Negan and the Saviors did suffer its losses.
At the same time, however, it's the start of a possible lot of action for the next season. If anything, it's good that the show didn't end on the kind of cliffhanger that annoyed a lot of fans at the beginning of season 7. What's more, we're assured that it's going to be more of an action-driven season than one with a lot of mulling and brooding about.
Interestingly, it won't necessarily be concentrated on battling with zombies, especially now that the War against living, breathing baddies is at its height. While this alone is already a big break from what The Walking Dead has been doing for a while now, showrunner Scott M. Gimple has a lot to say about what they have in store for the show.
Speaking on Talking Dead (via Comicbook.com), Gimple was tight-lipped about any plot points worth noting, but he did hype it up with a sort of promise.
"I say, āIt's gonna be bigger, it's gonna be more intense.' I always mean that, but this year it's the same thing. More intense. The first four episodes will melt people's minds and break their televisions."
Are you looking forward to the show continuing its relatively steady rise?
