The Walking Dead Season 7 Will Reveal Why Negan is Bad and Badass

Everyone already knows that Negan will be a badass even when he takes the life of possibly one of the audiences' favorite characters.

But what exactly made him bad in the first place? Why is he out to kill and out to dominate everyone in his path? Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan spoke with Entertainment Weekly and confirmed that the next season will reveal a whole lot of that.

"We're going to actually find out a lot more about his world. The last six season followed Rick and his band of merry men. Now you're going to find out in that time Negan has been running his own show in his own way and coming across all sorts of people and taking care of business."

From the looks of it, Negan's back story will follow what happens in the comics, so comic followers may already know what's up ahead. The following episodes will also build on how life has been like for Negan, and how his iron fist and charming attitude makes up for the leader that he is.

The Walking Dead's new season will also get into the mind of Negan, and how it works. Considering how his opening sequence played out, we can be sure that there will be quite a lot of twists and turns—because how can you make an army subservient with just a smile?

Morgan even described Negan as "no dummy," because if he were to play chess, he'll be two moves ahead of his opponent. We've already seen that in the way they cornered Rick's group. Now I'm interested in how Rick and the gang will fight back to get through this.

The Walking Dead will be back for its seventh season on Oct. 23.
