The Walking Dead: March to War Coming to Mobile

It looks like AMC's The Walking Dead series is not just the one taking NYCC 2016 by storm from the franchise.

A new partnership between Skybound Entertainment and Disruptor Beam have borne fruit to a new mobile game based on the hottest comic book-turned-series. titled The Walking Dead: March to War, this new title will be a "story-driven multiplayer strategy game."

The game will see players fighting alongside or against each other. Since it is a multiplayer strategy game, it harks back to what happens with the characters in the series. This means teaming up and fighting for control over the resources in Washington D.C. Then there's the other side of the coin, wherein there are also a lot of walkers lurking around, as detailed in the official press release (via Daily Dead).

Players will have to lead the survivors, and there's also a chance that players can command some very familiar faces like Rick, Michonne, and even, get this, Negan. It also involves a lot of moral choices, because players will not only have to defend themselves against walkers, but also against other survivors.

"The Walking Dead is an iconic franchise and one with millions of fans around the world. We've had success bringing both Star Trek and Game of Thrones to mobile, allowing fans of these franchises to tell their own stories through gameplay and the connections they make with other players. We very much look forward to continuing our work with Skybound Entertainment to create a similarly authentic and graphically impressed 3D game that truly brings to life the world fans love in The Walking Dead: March to War."

This will be an interesting game since it will involve both gameplay and narrative elements. According to Skybound Interactive's President Dan Murray, The Walking Dead: March to War will be players' chance to experience what the characters in the comics are able to feel.

While there is no release date for the game yet, it will be a free-to-play title coming to the App Store and Google Play Store. For those who want to get some form of head start, fans can register as a Survivor on the game's official website. That's one way to receive some pre-launch news and get an exclusive in-game Captured Walker once the game launches.
