The T-Rex Featured in The New Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Poster

Universal Pictures has released a new poster for J.A. Bayona's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and it captures the image of one of the epic scenes we've seen in the trailers: The T-Rex arriving just on time to save Owen Grady (played by Chris Pratt) and company.

The smokes and fires from the volcanic eruption in the background make this scene look epic, and the way it puts the T-Rex in the spotlight reminds us of how it has become one of the franchise's most iconic images. The T-Rex has been there since the release of the first Jurassic Park film in 1993. And compared to its portrayal back then, the T-Rex looks more heroic this time around. Who knows? Maybe the film will also feature scenes of it attacking innocent humans.

This scene probably takes place early in the film. Owen Grady and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) are on a mission to save the dinosaurs from the volcanic eruption of Isla Nublar. We're probably going to see the T-Rex more in this film but based on the trailers we've seen, we know that there's a bigger and badder dinosaur that they'll have to deal with in the film.

Synopsis:

It's been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who's still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Jurassic World is set to release in theaters on June 22, 2018.
