The Russo Brothers Wish They Could Have Added Wolverine In Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War might already have more than 60 characters to work with, but directors Joe and Anthony Russo still wish they could have included Wolverine in their two-part Avengers movie.

The Russo brothers just recently spoke with Games Radar during the London leg of Avengers: Infinity War's global press tour, and during the interview with the publication the directors were asked which superhero they would've wanted to use in the movie.

"Let's open it up to favorite Marvel characters. It would probably be Wolverine," Joe admitted, with Anthony interjecting with a hopeful "Yeah, maybe one day."

Though Marvel isn't free to use any of 20th Century Fox's mutant characters yet, Disney is currently finalizing its acquisition of Fox's assets, and many are hoping that this will lead to the X-Men, Fantastic Four and other mutants joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While mutants like Jean Grey and Rogue might be better picks for Avengers: Infinity War, it's definitely easy to understand why the Russo brothers would have wanted to have Wolverine in their upcoming Marvel crossover movie. Gritty and complex, Wolverine is a fan-favorite character whose charm comes from his intensity. It would have definitely been interesting to see Wolverine throwing around lines with Marvel heroes like Captain America (Chris Evans) or Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).

Avengers: Infinity War premieres April 27.
