FOX has released the first poster of the superpowered horror film The New Mutants and it perfectly matches the film's trailer, giving some fans some creepy yet intriguing imagery. The poster also has a killer tagline in "the only thing you have to yourself," which perfectly embraces horror while also acknowledging the status quo of the X-Men films. It does what a poster should do; get fans excited for the film.

The image itself is quite creepy, showing our five leads trapped and screaming for their lives. We also get to see the fangs of Maisie Williams' character Wolfsbane for the first time, which is pretty neat. It's clear that the film will be embracing it's horror roots, showing that FOX isn't afraid of mixing up superhero films with other genres.

Director Josh Boone claimed that the story will be based on the acclaimed Demon Bear Saga, which is arguably the most well-known arc of the group. The original story was written by classic X-Men scribe Chris Claremont, while legendary artist Bill Sienkiewicz drew the tale. Sienkiewicz also gave the film it's blessing, which is always nice to hear.

The New Mutants hits theaters on April 13, 2018.
