It goes without saying that the Star Wars franchise has been on a massive roll since the inception of the MandoVerse in 2019 and it's absolutely astonishing how Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have kept the momentum going. Now, it doesn't look like Lucasfilm is slowing down anytime soon and with two successful seasons under its belt, The Mandalorian is gearing up for the release of its third season, with rumors about Season 4 already being in production.
Judging by the stuff we saw from the trailer, it looks like Seasons 1 and 2 will be blown out of the water by the upcoming season. However, despite all the hype, some fans have expressed their concern over the show's playdate potentially being pushed back, especially after the official trailer intriguingly omitted the date.
Well, it turns out that there's no need to panic and according to supporting star Carl Weather himself, Season 3 will still premiere as planned. Taking to Twitter, the Greef Karga actor expressed his gratitude for being part of the hit Star Wars series while confirming that the third season will in fact begin streaming in February 2023.
Weathers wrote: "Being part of The Mandalorian has been such a wonderful experience! Cannot wait until the February 2023 start of new season on Disney+!! #ThisIsTheWay #GreefKarga #BePeace"
Meanwhile, The Mandalorian's fourth season is reportedly set to begin filming this year and by the looks of things, Lucasfilm is fast-tracking its release. It's worth noting that the show's ending was recently hinted at by actors Pedro Pascal and Katee Sackhoff so could it mean that Season 4 will be the final one? Hopefully, that's not the case.
The first two seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
