The Last of Us Series Shares First Look at Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie

We already know that HBO's live-action adaptation of The Last of Us is currently being filmed. That means cool new updates so we now have our first look at Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie.

The photo was shared by the official HBO Twitter account and it features Joel and Ellie looking out at the remains of a crashed plane. Check it out below.

It certainly looks like the series has made sure that Pascal and Ramsey will look just like Joel and Ellie from the video games. We can't see their faces just yet and hopefully, we'll be getting more pictures in the next few weeks.

The Last of Us is based on the 2013 video game of the same name developed by Naughty Dog. It follows Pascal's Joel as he is tasked with escorting the young Ellie (Ramsay) across the post-apocalyptic United States. The series will also star former Agents of SHIELD star Gabriel Luna as Joel's brother Tommy and Dumbo actress Nico Parker as Joel's daughter Sarah.

The first season of the series adaptation will consist of ten episodes that were written by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, who wrote and directed the game. The pilot episode will be helmed by Beanpole director Kantemir Balagov.

The Last of Us is still in production and is expected to wrap filming by June next year. The show has not yet been given an official release date but is set to premiere on HBO sometime in 2022.
