The Flash’s Ezra Miller London Shooting Dated, May Not Follow Footsteps of Suicide Squad

Of the new Justice League superheroes to be revealed, no one has received more satisfactory nods than The Flash. Ezra Miller takes on the role of Speedster and from his few appearances in the official Justice League trailer and in Suicide Squad, he's a major character to watch out for.

While a solo The Flash movie is included in the DC cinematic universe timeline, there's not a lot yet that's known about it. However, according to OLV, it's possible that the movie will start shooting in London at the start of the next year.

The report also appears to be corroborated by Suicide Squad director David Ayer, who had shared insights following The Flash's appearance in his supervillain movie.

In addition, even though The Flash's theatrical release date has not yet been solidly set, Screenrant reported that with the movie now starting with its principal photography in London, it's possible that the October 2018 release date for a DCEU movie may still go to The Flash.

Perhaps the most encouraging aspect for The Flash right now is the fact that the execs and creators of the succeeding DC movies will no longer be repeating the tragedy behind Suicide Squad. Evidence of this lies in Aquaman's script revisions before production and the replacement of The Flash director from Seth Grahame-Smith to Rick Famuyiwa to ensure compatibility with the movie.

I appreciate this move, mostly because it is the best move that the studio can do as of the moment. Both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad had a lot of potential to build a more planned DCEU. I'd rather see a sweeping timeline way into 2020 and beyond than to see movies with a lot of potential go to waste one after the other.

For now, apart from Ezra Miller taking on the titular role and Famuyiwa's involvement, Kiersey Clemons is also supposedly onboard the movie to play the role of Iris West, Barry's girlfriend/wife.

The Flash is one of the upcoming solo movies to promote the different members of Justice League. Coming next year is the back story for Wonder Woman, with Aquaman coming in 2018, Shazam in 2019, and Cyborg and the Green Lantern Corps in 2020. There will also be a Batman solo movie and a Man of Steel sequel, though both are undated.
