Flashpoint is taking center stage in the new season of The Flash. But the show also puts on the spotlight another speedster besides our favorite lovable dork Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).
Executive Producer Todd Helbing revealed in a new preview that the team will now be taking on some training duties, given that a new speedster has come to town (or Earth-1).
"They're surprised when Harry and Jesse show up of the blue because Harry has a big problem, and that is that his daughter is now a speedster. Harry is a little reluctant to let her go into the fray so he brings her over and sort of enlists the help of STAR Labs and Barry to train her."
The Insider video also touches on Magenta, the new meta-human wreaking havoc in Central City. Interestingly, Magenta seems to mark the start of the consequences haunting Barry after he made Flashpoint possible. According to Helbing, she is one of the direct results of Flashpoint.
Speaking of Jesse, it seems that CW has treated us to a preview of her costume. Actress Violett Beane has already confirmed that she will be donning the suit. But the show has given fans a first glimpse of Jesse's costume.
In the newest trailer, seen below, we get a preview of the new costume, and Jesse actually wearing it. And it's awesomely close to the red and yellow motif of the hero speedsters.
I have to say, seeing Jesse Quick take on a more central role apart from the genius girl in the group will be nice. While her comic counterpart has a different origin story (her father is Harrison Wells in The Flash), it would be interesting to see her take on being a speedster.
If Barry is all about doing good despite his tragic past and Wally West aiming to right his wrongs by being a hero himself, a teenager speedster with a genius background will definitely give it a different spin.
