The Flash Season 3 Will Have Kid Flash

The CW's The Flash has released photos of Wally West as Kid Flash, Variety reports. Keiynan Lonsdale has previously appeared on The Flash as Wally West, but he'll be making his debut as the costumed hero Kid Flash in the show's season 3 premiere. You can check out a full publicity photo of Kid Flash in all his red-and-yellow glory below:

In the closing episodes of the second season of The Flash, both Wally West and Jesse Chambers (who is a speedster hero called Jesse Quick in the comics) were exposed to a particle accelerator explosion. It could be possible this is how Wally will gain his speedster abilities in Season 3 or it could have to do with the Flashpoint timeline we'll see in the premiere. Season 2's finale saw Barry Allen (The Flash) going back in time and preventing his mother's murder, which created a new timeline. It's possible that in this timeline Wally is already Kid Flash.

Kid Flash debuted in 1959 as the Flash's sidekick. In the comics, like in the show, he is the nephew of Barry Allen's love interest, Iris West. Wally took over for Barry as the Flash when his mentor died in DC's Crisis of Infinite Earths event. However, Barry was eventually bought back to life. Other heroes who've taken up the Kid Flash mantle include Iris West herself (in an alternate timeline) and Bart Allen (Barry Allen's grandson from the future).

The Flash Season 3 will be airing Tuesday, October 4 at 8 PM. In addition to Kid Flash, the season will bring on former Harry Potter actor Tom Felton, who will play Julian Dorne, Barry's suspicious co-worker.

I think it will be interesting to see how they do Kid Flash on the show. Are you excited to see Wally West as Kid Flash? How do you like the costume? How do you think he'll make his debut?
