The Dark Knight's Christopher Nolan Is Interested In Doing A Bond Movie

After the latest Bond movie Spectre underperformed in the box office, the future of the James Bond franchise has started to look a bit murky. We haven't been getting that much news on the latest film, but we now know that Dunkirk director Christopher Nolan is interested in doing a Bond film—given the right conditions.

In an interview with Playboy magazine (via Imgur), Nolan says:

"A Bond movie, definitely. I've spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I'm always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You'd have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they're getting along very well."

It's been reported a while back that the Bond franchise has already fallen under the Syncopy umbrella, so it's very possible that Nolan could be taking the reigns of the next Bond film. With Daniel Craig's future in the franchise also unsure, a new rebooted James Bond may be the best way to go about the character. Several names have been listed as fan favorites including that of Idris Elba and Loki actor Tom Hiddleston.

With Nolan responsible for bringing life back into Batman, I'm pretty sure he would do a stellar job with 007. I just think it's a damn shame to forget all that setup for Spectre and Christoph Waltz's Blofeld. I thought he was pretty good.

No release date has been set for the next Bond movie.
