Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts has revealed the casting for Flash Thompson, Liz Allan and more, Entertainment Weekly reports. A lot of actors have been cast for Spider-Man: Homecoming, but until now, nobody knew what characters most of them were playing. Well, the mystery has been solved for the most part, as he revealed that Tony Revolori will play Flash, Laura Harrier will play Liz, Zendaya will play Michele and Jacob Batalon will play Ned.

The fact Watts didn't provide last names for the characters leaves a little ambiguity, but The Grand Budapest Hotel star Tony Revolori is definitely Flash Thompson, as he'll be bullying Peter in this move just like the classic character. When talking about his role Revolori said "'I'm [Peter Parker's] bully and I don't know how cool he is, but when we call cut, I'm just like, ‘Ah! You're so cool.'"

Since we've got Flash, Laura Harrier's Liz almost certainly refers to Liz Allan, Flash's girlfriend. Zendaya's Michele is a bit trickier, but odds are she's supposed to be Michele Gonzales, who in the comics was Peter's roommate and had a sort of weird fling/romance/whatever it was going with him. It's speculated Gonzales will by Peter's love interest for this movie rather than Mary Jane Watson or Gwen Stacy. If so, it's unknown if she'll take after her comics counterpart in not being a great match for Peter.

Finally, Jacob Batalon's "Ned" is presumably Ned Leeds, Peter's co-worker and a reporter at The Daily Bugle. Harrier says this cast often refers to their characters as "The Breakfast Club".It still has yet to be revealed what characters Donald Glover and Hannibal Burress will be playing.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is hitting theatres July 7, 2017.

What do you think of this casting news? Are you excited to see these characters bought to life on the big screen?
