We've barely been getting updates on Matt Reeves solo Batman movie, but a new rumor has come out that WB has decided when they will start production.

According to Heroic Hollywood, Reeves' The Batman could start shooting sometime in 2019, meaning that the film could be released at some point in 2020.

After news came out of Ben Affleck leaving the director's chair and Reeves totally scrapping the original story, it looked like The Batman was entering a new level of development hell; add to that all the rumors that Affleck won't be returning to reprise the character of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Fans will just have to hold on to this little smidgen of progress for now until WB gives us a more concrete announcement. Seeing that Batman is one of the most popular characters in the DCEU, WB is definitely going to release a Batman movie, whatever happens; it's only a question of when.

With Affleck's involvement up to question, it's been said that Reeves has already picked Jake Gyllenhaal to be Affleck's replacement. There is, however, a strong branch of fans who want to see Mad Men's Jon Hamm take over the role.

No official release has been announced for Reeves' The Batman.
