Thanos' Cosmic Ghost Rider Gets Fiery Mini-Series

Who would have thought that Frank Castle was going to be the standout character from the current Thanos comic? No longer The Punisher, the former vigilante has now become the Cosmic Ghost Rider, who aids an elder Thanos from an alternate future and debuted in Thanos #13, the first issue of current creative team Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw.

How the character becomes a new version of the Spirit of Vengeance will be explained in this week's Thanos #16 but fans will be happy to know that the character is also getting a brand-new mini-series.

Newsarama has confirmed that the Cosmic Ghost Rider mini-series will also be written by Cates, though no artist has been announced. The first issue will debut this summer, though no exact date has been given.

It's odd how this character has gained so much popularity in such a short period of time, though that might have to do with Cates' great writing. He's been a fan-favorite, with fans not only liking his Thanos run but his Doctor Strange one as well, with artist Gabriel Hernandez Walta.

Thanos #16 comes out this week and will detail how Frank Castle becomes Cosmic Ghost Rider.
