Terminator Teaser is Coming This Year

There's a reason while franchises nowadays commonly end as threequels rather than several numbered movies: too long can mean too much. Case in point: Pirates of the Caribbean. Because there's only so many ways you can make Captain Jack Sparrow's eyeliner and drawl interesting, even if he is Captain Jack Sparrow.

The same may also go for the Terminator franchise, as can be seen in the fledging last two films and what some argue to be a disappointing third movie. But a new tease from Skydance's David Ellison hints that the execs are not yet done with the franchise either.

Speaking to Collider, he hinted that they have looked into how the franchise will run once they push forward with more films, and it was a good view according to him.

"I will say we have resolved the future of the franchise and believe me, it's an incredibly bright future. I think where it's going will be the continuation of what the fans really wanted since T2. We have something this year that we will be announcing for the franchise. It's something we're incredibly excited about and we think is the direction it needs to head."

There are no more details after that, so we don't really if it will be a Terminator franchise reboot or a much fitting threequel approach to the story. What's more, with no definitive date on that announcement, fans will have to keep waiting for a while.
