Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy Game Gets First Look & Details

Fans can finally take their favorite Guardians from the Marvel Cinematic Universe out into their own consoles. Telltale Games has given the first few details of its new title, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series.

Announced over Telltale's official website, the developer gave a quick description, which is very similar to the one that was earlier leaked:

"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is a brand new story of the universe's unlikeliest heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artefact of unspeakable power. From Earth to Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, you wear the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, where your decisions and actions drive the story you experience."

The looks of the characters are pretty familiar for those who have already seen the movie. Perhaps with the exception of Gamora, who has a more tidied-up look compared to the rugged one that Zoe Saldana's Gamora was going for. Groot actually looks a little more menacing in this version, or maybe it's the glowing eyes and sharper, horn-like features on his head.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will also have some familiar voice talents, especially those who have played a number of the developer's games:

Scott Porter (The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series): Star-Lord
Emily O'Brien (Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor): Gamora
Nolan North (Uncharted series): Rocket
Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs): Drax
Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us): Groot

While the developer did not confirm any release dates, it did confirm a season pass. Following Telltale Games' other titles like The Walking Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy will also feature also be released with a season pass. This will give players access to the first episode in the season, as well as the next four once they become available. There are also no confirmations yet on which platforms the game will be released.

Early demo versions will be available at the SXSW at Austin on March 17, for those who will be attending the Crowd Play event.
