Tales Of Suspense #100 Will Be An 'Anti-Buddy Cop' Series With Hawkeye And Winter Soldier

One of the more shocking moments of Secret Empire was the death of Black Widow, who took a fatal blow for the Miles Morales Spider-Man, during a scuffle with evil Steve Rogers. Though her death wasn't undone by Kobik after they defeated the Supreme Leader of Hydra, someone has been killing her enemies since she died. Hawkeye and Winter Soldier will team up to find out who is killing Widow's enemies in the latest Marvel Legacy series Tales of Suspense.

The series was announced during the Inside Marvel segment of ABC News. According to Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort, the series will focus on how Clint and Bucky "deal with their own grief and feelings" about Natasha's death, assuming she actually is dead. While everyone did see her die on national television, the person killing her enemies is doing it in a style similar to Black Widow's method.

In fact, Winter Soldier feels that Natasha is still alive somehow. During Secret Empire Omega #1, we see Bucky investigate one of the deaths and he is really confident that Black Widow is doing it somehow. Bucky was in a long relationship with Natasha during Ed Brubaker's run on Captain America and Winter Soldier, so he does know her well.

Who is killing off Natasha's old enemies? Fans will find out this December in Tales of Suspense #100. The series will be written by Matthew Rosenburg, who is currently writing Secret Warriors and will also pen Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey in December as well. He will be joined by artist Travel Foreman, who is well known for his work on DC's Animal Man.
