Taika Waititi Debunks Rumors About Thor: Ragnarok’s Runtime

Marvel fans were shocked when they heard that Thor: Ragnarok would be one of the shortest films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There was so much excitement over the superhero space buddy movie after Marvel dropped the film's first teaser, and everyone was hoping for a two-hour-plus run.

However, a new confirmation by director Taika Waititi says the film would last for only an hour and a half – ten minutes less than what he told fans during the Marvel panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con. Taking to Twitter, Waititi decided to set the news straight after a rumor from a fan account started spreading rumors that Ragnarok would actually be 2 hours and 10 minutes long.

Check it out here:

Waititi's tweet is a pretty funny way to debunk a rumor. Then again, Waititi's always been a man of levity with his independent films specializing in offbeat humor. Fans who're upset that Ragnarok's coming up short in screentime don't have to worry either – Waititi's has a knack for shorter films.

However we're certainly hoping that 40-minute-long credit scene will do some good. There better be a lot of funny reels and cameos.

Thor: Ragnarok makes its big debut on November 3, 2017.
