Sylvester Stallone And Kurt Russell Could Return For Future MCU Movies

Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stalone will be making their debut to the MCU in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but it looks like both of them could very well appear in more Marvel movies down the line. GOTG director James Gunn comments on their roles.

In an interview with Fandango, Gunn said:

"This is definitely not a one-off [for them]. They're both characters that we've taken a lot of time to develop, and they're a big part of the MCU now."

Though we've known for a while that Russell will be playing Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) father, Ego the Living Planet, we still have no idea who Stallone is playing. We just know that it's a "key role" in the Marvel Universe and Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum will be acting alongside him.

My guess is that Stallone will be playing an officer from the Nova Corps, making an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War quite possible. I'm also guessing that Ego will make some sort of huge sacrifice in Guardians 2, and the effects will carry on into Infinity War since it would have something to do with travelling to space.

With March almost at an end, we'll only have barely a month to wait for the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Hopefully James Gunn and the cast will deliver another crazy cosmic movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out on May 5.
