Supernatural is veering a little away from the biblical supernatural entities and going back to more human threats.
This is where the new promo video is zooming in on, wherein the Winchester family is getting into the entire business of saving people and hunting things.
Taking off from the last season's events, where Sam has been abducted by the group that is targeting their family, it seems that Supernatural season 12 will see where his fate takes him.
While season 12 has yet to start, it appears that the cast and crew may already be thinking of the right time and episode to pull the plug on the show.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, stars and onscreen brothers Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have said that they always focus on the next milestone ahead with Supernatural. And for them, it's got to be the 300th episode.
"In a marathon, I keep my sights on that next mile, wherever that might be. And 300's a good number to work for."
Of course, that's not to say that Supernatural will really end once that episode is reached. However, this isn't something that they randomly picked. According to the creators, this episode should land them in the 13th episode for the 14th season.
More interesting is the fact that the creators have looked at this possibility, wherein season 14 will be more of a narration of a 13-episode story, so they can plan when the finale will really be.
Whatever happens, the onscreen brothers do want to reach for 300, because as Padalecki said, reaching that will allow them to be able to say goodbye to the show and give it a good finale.
Supernatural will return for its twelfth season on Oct. 13.
