Supergirl Flies To The CW For Season 2

The second Season of Supergirl is coming this fall, but it will be moving from CBS to CW, EW reports.

Supergirl, which stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, will now air on The CW channel, joining other DC superhero TV series in producer Greg Berlanti's universe, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Arrow.

When Supergirl was first announced, fans have asked whether CBS, which is famous for its crime dramas was the right network for the show. CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler previously defended the decision, telling EW, "For our network right now, what we did respond to was the character's humanity, the other characters in the show as well – the story trajectory and the character's arc and growth. These are all things that made her just imminently relatable, and made the story exciting."

This move could increase crossover opportunities with other DC shows. Executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg are producing Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
