Super Mario Odyssey Has A Secret That Long-TIme Nintendo Fans Would Love


Nintendo fans could think of many reasons to love Super Mario Odyssey. Its wonderful design and fun gameplay make it one of the greatest video games ever, but long-time fans of the Mario franchise also enjoy the game for the way it brings back nostalgic elements from previous Mario titles.

Now, a new secret has been discovered in the game, and it's a nod to a mystery from Super Mario 64. This one sends players to a classic location.

You can access the location after you beat Odyssey. In the Mushroom Kingdom where Mario returns to after finishing the game, you can collect purple coins to unlock a familiar-looking outfit: Mario's low-polygon look from Super Mario 64. While wearing this outfit, you can unlock a door in Mushroom Kingdom which will let you access a strange Mario 64 area.

In this area, Mario can acquire a Moon (which looks like Mario 64's star) by unlocking the "Totally Classic" achievement.
