Suicide Squad Featurette Pits Bad vs. Evil—Who Will Win?

If you haven’t had enough of seeing Suicide Squad before it actually airs in theaters, then here’s another treat.

A seven-and-a-half-minute featurette shows not only some nice scenes, both new and old, but also a look behind-the-scenes for the cast’s training and bonding on- and off-cam.

The training does look good even when they aren’t dressed as the Squad. Will Smith (Deadshot in the movie) says that:

“Physicality for an actor helps you feel the character.”

The training wasn’t just all about doing takes with a stunt double either. Joel Kinnaman, who plays the role of elite soldier Rick Flag, shares that the military training that the movie has gave it more depth.

We see almost everyone in the Squad engaging in some kind of combat, whether with a gun or hand-to-hand. That’s always a plus for me when it comes to superhero movies. It’s not just all about special effects and CG. It’s fun to see the bad guys training to fight the, well, more evil guys.

And for those who are still wondering whether or not the scenes were re-shot to get a Deadpool comedy effect, this really doesn’t seem to be the case. As Margot Robbie a.k.a. the love-crazy Harley Quinn puts it:

“The Squad on screen is really cool. The Squad off-screen, I’ve never experienced anything like it.”
