The second season of Stranger Things is making its big debut soon and Netflix has been busy promoting the Duffer Brothers ode to the eighties by releasing new videos and posters for the popular science fiction-horror series.

One of the latest posters marketing the second season of Stranger Things features Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) in a new image that reminds fans of Stephen King's Firestarter, a story about a pair of college students that obtain certain abilities after taking experimental drugs. The two eventually marry and have a daughter named Charlie. The only problem is, the daughter finds herself with incredible powers and is chased by the government for it.

Knowing Eleven's back story as the result of a government experiment, the Firestarter-based poster seems very fitting for the character. We wonder whether The Duffer brothers will take more signals from Firestarter in carving out Eleven's character arc in the series, giving the character a happy ending like Charlie's.

Netflix has been highlighting the nostalgic sources of inspiration of Stranger Things in its posters as the marketing campaign for the series continues, and so far the results have been pretty eye-catching. We're looking forward to more retro posters for Stranger Things.

Stranger Things season 2 premieres on Netflix on October 27, 2017.
