A lot of fans lamented over the death of Barb Holland, Nancy's best friend and the innocent and fierce girl of Stranger Things—next to Eleven, of course. And while she wasn't the most long-lasting character, her memory lives on, even if her physical self is no longer alive in the Upside Down.
Before you freak out with the possibility that she's alive, this has already been dashed to bits by Eleven actress Millie Bobby Brown. However, speaking to Elite Daily. Barb actress Shannon Purser did hint at what she has heard for the second season of Stranger Things.
"I know the vague statement that there will be justice for her, but besides that, no one will tell me anything, so I'm in the dark."
This is some interesting development, to say the least. While we know that she won't be back for good, it seems that her memory won't just be forgotten in the dark. This also seems to be a good response to the fans who were just pretty much shocked by what happened.
"I still don't really believe it. I mean, it was really strange, because I had the time of my life and was just excited to be a part of it, and you know, for a few weeks after it came out, nothing happened which is kind of what I expected, and then all of a sudden all these tweets start flooding in… ‘What happened to Barb"?' ‘Justice for Barb!' ‘OMG where'd she go?' and it was so surreal, but it means the world to me because it's given me so many opportunities since."
And while we won't be seeing her in Stranger Things anymore, she does have her own stint in Riverdale, the equally mysterious, but so much less otherworldly and dark world of Archie and the gang. Here, she plays Ethel Muggs.
Stranger Things will be back on Netflix this Halloween. Until then, you can check out Riverdale for more Shannon Purser, airing Thursdays on The CW.
