Stranger Things 2: Show Gets A Poster Inspired By Stand By Me

Probably one of the biggest hooks to Stranger Things is its 80s nostalgia, and the second season promises us some sweet references including Ghostbusters, Dragon's Lair, and Michael Jackson. In another piece of 80s-marketing, Stranger Things just got a new poster, and it pays homage to poster of Stand By Me.

Check it out:

It's interesting because Stand By Me was based on a novel by Stephen King, and it's no secret that the Duffer Brothers also drew a lot of inspiration from King when they made Stranger Things.

For some weird reason, 2017 seems to have a lot of Stephen King works coming back to life. Besides the second season of Stranger Things, we're also getting the reboot of IT, and King's Dark Tower comic series is also getting the live-action treatment with Idris Elba and Matthew Mcconaughey .

I'll be honest, Stranger Things took me entirely by surprise, and I'm actually very excited to see where the story goes with the second season. Check out the synopsis:

It's 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Stranger Things returns to Netflix Oct. 27.
