Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Revealed with Final Fantasy 1-6 Remasters

Square Enix certainly had a lot of things to drop at E3 this year and most of it is for its best-known franchise. The Square Enix presentation confirmed an exciting new title Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin in an awesome teaser. In addition to that, it was revealed that the first six Final Fantasy games are getting remasters.

There have been previous reports about Square Enix collaborating with Team Ninja on a new game and this was finally confirmed at E3 2021. The teaser for Stranger of Paradise revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake veterans Tetsuya Nomura and Kazushige Nojima have worked with Koei Tecmo Games' Team Ninja.

Not much is known about Final Fantasy Origin. However, the description shares how it will follow Jack, Ash and Jed who "burn with resolve to defeat Chaos as they throw open the gates to the Chaos Shrine." However, the heroes also have their doubts as they wonder, "are they truly the Warriors of Light the prophecy foretold?"

There is little doubt that Stranger of Paradise is going to be something different and exciting. However, Square Enix also has something familiar for fans of the older titles. Another teaser confirms that the first Final Fantasy games are set for a 2-D remaster.

For now, the remasters of Final Fantasy 1-6 have only been confirmed but have not yet been given an official release date. In the meantime, the trial version of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is already set to be available on PlayStation 5 on June 24, 2021.
