Star Wars: Watch the Crew Get Emotional as they Shoot Luke and Leia's Reunion

With Carrie Fisher dying late 2016, Star Wars: The Last Jedi was the last chance for anyone to see the Skywalker siblings reunite, and director Rian Johnson didn't disappoint. With the movie coming to digital, some extra clips have come out online, and one has the TLJ crew getting emotional as they watch the reunion between Luke and Leia.

Check it out:

Anyone who saw the movie will know that Luke wasn't really there, but it was still pretty emotional to see the two older Skywalkers back together onscreen. Even Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy looked like she was in the verge of tears.

With Fisher having passed, Episode IX will have to find a way to write her character off without seeming disrespectful. Lucasfilm has already gone to say that she won't be recreated with CGI, so I wonder how they're going to treat Leia's departure in the last episode of the sequel trilogy.

It was said that the main legacy character for Episode IX was going to be Leia, but with that out of the door, a lot of people hope that Luke Skywalker will be back in the form of a Force ghost. Though we did see Obi-Wan die in A New Hope, we still saw Alec Guinness appear to Luke in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now available in digital and comes to Blu-Ray on March 27.
