Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be showing in theaters very soon and fans will soon be able to share their unbiased--okay, let's be honest here, their biased thoughts about the film. Unlike The Last Jedi, which was loved by critics but hated by fans, The Rise of Skywalker has received mixed reviews from critics. Some fans in attendance hated it but there's no telling how honest they are; we'll just have to check it out for ourselves and hope for the best.
Well, if there's one thing that is worth praising, it's that the movie has a genuine LGBTQ moment. Unfortunately, it's not between any of the main characters, nor does it include any of the newly introduced ones. According to a report from ComicBook.com, it's a moment between two female members of The Resistance, which is just okay.
It's similar to that LGBTQ moment in Avengers: Endgame where Joe Russo played a character who went on a date with someone that just happened to be a dude. This was also fine but many felt that it would have meant more if it centered around a major character. Thankfully, Thor: Love and Thunder will finally give us the bisexual Valkyrie fans have been begging for, though they will have to wait a bit longer for Star Wars to follow the same suit.
Maybe it will be better once the movie is out for everyone? Let's hope for the best.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out this Friday, on December 20.
