Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s John Boyega Admits That He’s Freaked Out By The Porgs

Star Wars fans were a bit worried when Lucasfilm revealed that director Rian Johnson was adding fluffy sea penguins into The Last Jedi but the community started warming up to the Porgs after seeing how cute one could squawk in The Force Awakens sequel's very first trailer.

Star Wars actor John Boyega isn't so convinced though.

Sitting down with Entertainment Weekly, the British actor who plays the stormtrooper-turned-Resistance-fighter revealed that he had a bit of a love-hate relationship with the Porgs.

"I just remember doing some stuff and seeing a lot of Porgs around," Boyega explained. "And they are interesting, but for me, I had a love/hate relationship with them. They're very, very cute, but when you put them in a bunch, in holes, on the Millennium Falcon, that's when they start to become really, really freaky.

"They've got real big eyes, all bunched together," the actor elaborated. "There were, like, little tiny ones and little big ones that would just…yeah, it looks like a rash."

Guess it must be kind of creepy looking at stuffed animatronic figures while at work. Boyega also mentioned a bunch of Porg's in the Millenium Falcon. We've only seen one Porg riding with Chewie in The Last Jedi's trailer. Are there going to be more in the ship when the film arrives in the next few weeks?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
