However, now that the Christmas holiday season is over, it seems like Lucasfilm's newest Star Wars sequel trilogy is picking up speed, running at 29% behind The Force Awakens.
According to Forbes, The Last Jedi is back to being the second fastest-grossing movie of all time, taking its place behind Lucasfilm's very first sequel trilogy installment. On day ten, the film trailed behind The Avengers, and from day eight to day twelve it trailed behind Jurassic World. However, it seems like the film has returned to form with a leg comparable to both Rogue One and The Force Awakens as the film enjoys a worldwide gross of $892.10 million at day 13 of its run.
Though the film has ended up being a divisive Star Wars installment among fans, Star Wars: The Last Jedi seems to remain strong, raking in millions at the domestic and foreign box office while earning overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics.
