Star Wars: The Last Jedi Featurette Gives Us A Look At The Cast And Their Combat Training

If there's one common complaint about The Force Awakens, it's the fact that it didn't feature enough lightsaber fights. With Rey training with Luke in The Last Jedi we should expect more saber work from Rey, and now Lucasfilm has given us a behind-the-scenes look at the combat training of not just Daisy Ridley, but for Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, John Boyega, and Kelly Marie Tran as well.

With Rey having been officially trained this time, it's no wonder that Ridley herself would have to go through a rigorous training method. We know that Christie can fight thanks to her work on Game of Thrones, but this is the first time we'll see her using a spear.

Boyega did use the lightsaber a bit in the first movie, but now it looks like he'll be trading it in for a riot baton. I also didn't expect Tran to be doing her own fight scenes, but I guess Rose will have to hold her own when she and Finn infiltrate the First Order.

The character that a lot of people probably want to see using a lightsaber in the movie is Mark Hamill, but just like the Superman reveal in Justice League, I have a feeling that Lucasfilm wants Luke's big moment to be a surprise for everyone in the audience.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
