Star Wars: The Last Jedi Actor Adam Driver Reveals The Advice Carrie Fisher Gave Him

Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Adam Driver was recently featured in GQ to discuss about the upcoming film, and in addition to the major spoiler he might have spilled about Rey's true parentage, Driver also revealed the advice that his on-screen mother Carrie Fisher gave him. Speaking to GQ, he said:

"The whole cast was downstairs in a conference room, talking through what's supposed to happen at this big event. She was like, 'Just pretend you're down to earth. People love that shit. So now I pretend I'm down to earth," Driver said. "And you know what? People really do love that shit. They eat it up."

Driver admitted that the news of Fisher's passing last year affected her, and although he didn't talk about the details, he said that her death was a surprise to him.

"It's hard to talk about it without saying generic things," he said. "Like, 'It's shocking,' but it was. Or 'It's incredibly sad,' which it is. I mean, it is all of those things."

Driver wasn't the only actor who received advice from Fisher. Rey actress Daisy Ridley also received dating advice from her.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
