Star Wars: The Force Awakens Millennium Falcon Escape Scene Gets A Breakdown Video

One of the most iconic scenes in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the Millennium Falcon escape scene in Jakku. When I first saw a glimpse of it in the first teaser trailer, I expected it to be one of the highlights of the film. The Art of Film put together a 4-minute video that breaks down the visual effects of the scene, showing us angles we haven't seen in the film before. The video also incorporates final footage from the film along with concept art, and rehearsal footage of actors Daisy Ridley and John Boyega (or, perhaps their stunt doubles) dodging explosions. Compared to other scenes from the film, this looks more extensive to create, so it's no surprise that it's one of the most unforgettable Star Wars scenes we've seen.
