After working as the cinematographer on Star Trek (2009) and its 2013 sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, it's no surprise that director J.J. Abrams decided to reteam with Dan Minzel on Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Since the film was released three weeks ago, Minzel has been releasing behind-the-scenes images on his Instagram page, with most of the images devoted to the state-of-the-art filming equipment he used during production, but we also see images featuring Chewbacca, the climactic lightsaber battle in the snowy forest, BB-8 and its multiple remote-controls, and helmets of a Stormtrooper and Captain Phasma.
