Star Wars: The Force Awakens Character Supreme Leader Snoke is Gigantic

Andy Serkis, the motion capture actor playing Supreme Leader Snoke in the upcoming Star Wars Film, has unveiled some new information about how large the character is, and the filming process. "It was quite an unusual situation," Serkis told Empire. "My first day was basically standing on a 25-foot podium doing Lord Snoke without the faintest idea what he looked like, or in fact who he was! I was very high up, totally on my own, away from everybody else, but acting with them."

Andy Serkis also mentioned that while filming, sound was pumped through speakers to give him a sense of scale and distance for the character, but it was still very challenging. It sounds like Supreme Leader Snoke is going to be a massive character, but I'm surprised that Serkis wasn't able to see what he would look like before filming. Still, if anyone could pull off this difficult role, it's the mastermind behind Golum from Lord of the Rings and Caesar from Planet of the Apes.

I'm really excited to see how Andy Serkis's performance will come to life in The Force Awakens, and how Snoke is visualized. The film comes out on December 18, and we'll keep you posted on any new information until then.
